Even though I will be bringing my Samsung mirrorless camera for taking pictures and videos, there will be situations in which a more durable camera will be needed. For these extra movies and pictures under water, while cycling, hiking and whatever we decide to do, an action camera is the go-to option. While looking through some different options and after receiving a 20% voucher for Rollei, we first wanted to bring the Rollei Actioncam 430 with us. After receiving it and putting it to the first test during our packing marathon, it already froze during some timelapse shooting and it lacks some quite basic features. The quite cheap price could not make up for these flaws, so we decided to return it. While looking for another non-GoPro option (they are just too expensive), my attention was drawn to the Xiaomi Yi 4k which was tested to be on par with the newest GoPro Hero 5.

Right after placing the order for the Xiaomi Yi 4k, we got even better news. The company ProTherm decided to sponsor our action camera!! Thank you for your support there, Markus! We received the camera last week and could already put it to some test situations and the results look extremely well so far. You will be seeing footage from it soon, I think. ;-)

With our departure getting closer and closer, there is just one big thing left that we are still waiting for: our highly anticipated drone to complete the overkill camera gear. After pre-ordering our DJI Mavic Pro both in Germany and New Zealand, we might end up receiving neither of them. It was expexted to be shipped middle to end of December so maybe there is still a chance. If we receive it on time, you will be the first to know!
