After hitching a ride from Broome to Karijini Nationalpark, we hopped back on our bikes and started exploring the different gorges. Our first stop was Dales Gorge and on a nice walk on the bottom of the gorge we could see Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls and Fern Pool. All of those were really pretty but there was more to come.
Next day was Vroni's birthday and she even got a cake from a really nice family we kept bumping into since the Gibb River Road. We hope to meet Michael, Julie, Emma, Jayden and Alice again, maybe if we come by their place in Adelaide.
On our way to the next gorge one of the worst possible things happened to us: After fixing a puncture and while putting the rear weel back into his bike, Jonas overtightened his axle and it snapped! We had no idea what to do as we did not carry a spare part for that. That meant we were stuck on the side of the road without a bike shop 500km any direction. We stopped a passing car to get them to tell the visitor information center about our situation, hoping they would send a ranger to help us out. After about an hour said ranger arrived and he made us hope that there might be a spare part from some scrap bikes they had lying around at their headquarters. He then took off with our broken part, leaving us at the side of the road one more time. Another hour later he returned - and he brought an axle that fit my bike! We could not believe it and Vroni's birthday improved greatly. It allowed us to keep going and we ended up staying at Kalamina Gorge for the night.

Within the next two days we arrived at the second campsite in the park and together with Michael, Julie and their kids we explored the other amazing gorges closeby. Knox, Hancock, Weano and Joffre Gorge were all amazing in their own way, but the video and photos tell a better story there. On our last day in Karijini we decided to climb Mt Bruce for sunset, Western Australias second highest mountain with 1235m. We were joined by Santi, a cool Argentinian guy we met at the campsite and we were rewarded with an amazing view of the surrounding area. Next morning we left Karijini in direction of Exmouth, so we are on our way back to the coast!

All the best from Australia,
Keep cycling,
Vroni, Droni & Joni
