We spend the first days in Hanoi, did a street food tour as well as a city tour where we learned a lot about Vietnam in general. Puluong Nature Reserve, our next stop, was the opposite of busy Hanoi. Already our hotel rooms provided a stunning view over rice fields and mountains. We were lucky with the weather and did some hiking in that area. The dry Halong Bay would be our next area to explore. We stayed in Ninh Binh and cycled around the rice fields, mountains, temples and pagodas. After that, we spend one night on a boat driving through the beautiful Halong Bay. We also did some kayaking and went to a floating village there. This place is just amazing.
A night train brought us further South to the Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park where we did some jungle trekking and explored the enormous and stunning caves. One of those is the Paradise Cave, which is the bigges in the world. On the tour through the Dark Cave we had some fun zip lining and mud bathing. Hue, the old imperial city, was our next stop. We visited the colourful and very detailed build houses and temples. We entered the South of Vietnam by cycling over Hai Van Pass (500m high). We spend the last days together in Hoi An, an old trading town. We strolled through the old quarter and enjoyed our last evening with an amazing vespa tour at night (www.vespaadventures.com).
We had a great time together.
Now, it's time for cycling again.
See you,
