We hitched a ride to Esperance without our bikes as it's easier to find a lift. For the first lift we waited around 1,5 hours and the first lift got us to Jerramungup and after another half an hour we found somebody to take us the last 300km right into Esperance. We arrived, heard music from somewhere and went to look where it came from. We found an open air music festival that you could go to for free. Everybody was sitting in the grass and only one person with a guitar or a small band would play – it was great. After the music festival, the Rotary Lookout was the place where we spent the night. It was a really nice sitting area with view over the blue ocean.
The next morning we walked back into town where they had a small market. After that we thought about how to get to the famous Esperance beaches and that's how we met Justine. She asked us if we need a drive around to the beaches and a place to stay – YES, PERFECT. We went to all those stunning white beaches, they really look like the footage in our video. After we stoppted at all the beaches we went back to her place and made some Kässpätzle for dinner.
Justine offerd us a trip to Cape Le Grand National Park the next day. So we left in the morning and drove to Lucky Bay. We were really lucky because just when we arrived there were kangoroos at the beach and they left shortly after that. We drove along the beach and found some beautiful places and even saw some dolphins in the water. It really could not have been any better.
After another great evening with Justine and her nephew Saxson we hitched a ride back to Albany in the morning. Just after a few of minutes of waiting we found Billal, a French traveler, who took us right into Albany. In the afternoon we started packing our bags before we had Mario give us a lift back to Perth the next day. We met him at a fruit and veggie shop and he offered to take us back to Perth in his truck.
From where he dropped us off we just had to cycle a couple of kilometers into Fremantle where we had our next hosts. Ryan offered us an amazing place and we had a great time with him and his partner Misty. On Sunday we even went out on his sailing boat and sailed to Carnac Island. We weren't the only ones there, but still it was really cool. We had a swim in the cristal clear water and saw rays, dolphins and seals.
All through this year we were just having the best time and met the best people.
Now we are looking forward to seeing our families for Christmas before we keep on cycling in the new year.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year,
Jonas, Droni and Vroni
