Early this year our parents started thinking about visiting us for Christmas as we have not seen them since the beginning of 2017. In August we decided that we would meet in Perth as we would be able to get there in time and our parents would be able to get there easily. On December 16 Vroni's sister Moni arrived and one day later Jonas' parents did. The first week the five of us spent in a rented motorhome driving in up the West Coast all the way to Kalbarri National Park and then slowly making our way back to Perth. It was pretty hot but the amazing landscape was worth the sweating. We spent two days in Kalbarri, exploring Nature's window and the stunning coastline. From there on we came by a pink lake (algae produce the pink color) and visited some of the lovely little towns along the way.
Our week went by so quickly and it is true, time flies if you are having fun. On Dec 24 Vroni's parents also arrived in Perth and we celebrated Christmas in a holiday house in Perth. Having a warm Christmas was really weird but having your loved ones around you was what counted for us. One day we spent exploring Rottnest Island on hired bikes and the other day we had a little bit of a city tour through Perth CBD. For the Christmas feeling we also enjoyed the Christmas Lights Walk through Perth at one evening.
Our next stop after Perth was Albany and again we had a holiday house for three nights there. The cooler weather was a relief, especially for our parents who were used to German Winter and not Australian Summer. The picturesque Albany area had a great deal of great nature to discover (Bald Head Walk was amazing and we would definitley recommend that walk) and we also climbed Bluff Knoll (the highest mountain in the area with 1095m) as it was recommended to us by several people beforehand. Another highlight there was Frenchman Bay with the Gap and the stunning views you can get.
The last stop that we had all together was Busselton where we also celebrated New Year's eve. We visited the 1,8km jetty and snorkeled there but apart from that we took it easy and relaxed a bit after some rather packed days before.
On January 1 Jonas parents had to leave again as they had to go back to work. The last couple of days it was only Vroni's parents, her sister and us and again we went North of Perth to Jurien Bay to spend three more nights there before they all had to leave. We tried sandboarding and after a while we weren't even that bad. The Pinnacles were great and also the area around Jurien Bay was nice and we had some relaxed and easy last days of holidays from traveling.

We hope you all had nice holidays with your loved ones,
All the best from Australia,
Vroni, Droni and Joni
