After more than a month in lovely Georgia, it was time to move on. We took the ferry from Batumi to Odessa and after meeting Vroni's brother Basti for a few days, we kept on cycling towards Moldova and Romania. Click to read more and watch our new video.
Exploring the beautiful mountains of Georgia by foot was amazing. We left our bikes in Batumi and took a marshrutka (mini bus) up to Mestia, hiked to Chvelpi via Ushguli and drove from there to Kutaisi. After a city day there we went back to Batumi. Click to read more and watch our new video.
We left Tbilisi to head into the Lesser Caucasus, past Lake Paravani, Vardzia Cave Monastery, a few awesome castles and through stunning mountain terrain. We reached Batumi and the Black Sea eventually. Click to read more and watch our new video.
We cycled through Azerbaijan for four days and after an amazing three day hike in Georgia we arrived after two more days cycling in Tbilisi. It was a combination of crazy hot days, mountains, forest and big city live. Read more...
We were leaving Tajikistan on a high note by visiting the seven lakes and diving head first into the amazing ancient cities of Uzbekistan. Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva were great highlights before we took the train to Kazakhstan and the ferry to Azerbaijan from there. Click to read more and watch our new video.
We explored the Fann Mountains for a weekend, followed beautiful valleys and climbed up pretty steep and snowy mountains. Our route took us from lake Iskanderkul via Kaznok pass to lake Alaudin. The path wasn't always that obvious and it was definetly an adventurous time, especially when we were the first ones to cross a 4000m pass this year. Click to read more and watch our new video.
After a few days of break in Rushan, we left for the last 370km to Dushanbe. We followed the border with Afghanistan and got onto less bumpy roads eventually. The scenery was beautiful until we left the mountains and for the final 150km it was too hilly, hot and busy, so we hitched a ride into Dushanbe. Click to read more and watch our new video.
The moment we were working forward to for a while has finally come: We are starting our cycling adventure on the Pamir Highway. Leaving Osh and entering Kyrgyzstan lead us through the Bartang Valley and to Rushon eventually. Click to read more and watch our new video.
Together with our friends Sarah and Jonas we hiked to the amazing alpine lake Son Kul and trekked on horses to lake Kol'Ukok. After parting ways with them, we cycled from Kochkor to Naryn, Kazarman and to Osh eventually. Along the way we cycled on some rough roads and climbed a few steep passes, but the scenery was so worth it. Click to read more and watch our new video.
